ASICLAND(CEO Jong-min, Lee) announced that it has been transferred ‘memory interface and power temperature control technology for high speed computation of artificial intelligence (AI) processor’ from The Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) on Jan 3.   

ASICLAND applied this technology to develop AI processor ‘ETRI Aldebaran 9(AB9)’ with 'AI processor inference core design technology' that was transferred from ETRI last year.  AB9 is high computational performance with low power consumption chip compare to current commercial chip. ASICLAND took in charge of backend process in the development of AB9.

AB9 is capable of 40TFLOPS of computation while consuming only 15W of power.

It is evaluated that it has power efficiency close to less than 10W that is capable of autonomous driving.

With this technology transfer, ASILAND will be able to develop customized ASIC (Customer-On-Demand Semiconductors) that can speed up AI processors such as semiconductors for autonomous driving and reduce power temperature.

ASICLAND provides turn-key service from ‘spec-in’ to backend process including design of architecture, DFT, Auto P&R, package, and test with customer’s request.

Also, as TSMC’s Value Chain Aggregator), ASICLAND has been developing and mass-producing various customer’s semiconductor based on its experience in integrating and testing HIS(High Speed Interface) such as PCIe and DDR.
